About the Author
Shanila Sattar is an integrative wellness leader, a
fourth-generation sound healer, breathwork coach, and founder of
AlwaysPlay Studios and The Integrative Healing Academy, a playground
for healing and healers that mixes science with the mystical and
having fun while getting it done. With support from California to
bring holistic healing to women’s shelters, veterans’ legions, and
underserved schools, her organizations support facilitators to learn
the indigenous roots of holistic practices and create mindful,
sustainable, soulful businesses. Sattar spent more than a decade
working in the tech world before pivoting to pursue her life’s
passion, including helping BIPOC healers hone their crafts and close
wellness gaps in our communities. She has partnered with numerous
brands, including Cannes Film Festival, GirlBoss, Nickelodeon, Papa
& Barkley, Purple, Sundance Film Festival, Then I Met You, Warner
Bros, and more. She has written for Huffington Post, Mind Body Online,
